PricewaterhouseCoopers has just completed its first year of support for ABLAZE Excellence in Bristol Schools, working with Ashton Park Secondary School in South Bristol.


20 female staff from PwC are involved in an on-going mentoring project with 20 year 9 female pupils, working in groups and in pairs, to support the pupils in raising their aspirations and helping them achieve their full potential. We will continue to work with the group right through to the end of their GCSE year.


Activities to date have included:

  • Parents and PwC mentors meeting to help parents understanding why their daughters have been invited to join the project, and for parents provide input
  • Tour of Bristol’s business district, including visits to key major employers in our area
  • Careers ICT investigation
  • Sports afternoon
  • Visit to Bristol Law Courts
  • Curriculum mentoring and GCSE options evening
  • Visit to Bristol University campus, including participating in lectures and interviewing university students


Throughout, PwC and Ashton Park School have worked closely together to identify activities which will challenge and stimulate our pupils and help them to expand their environments and raise their aspirations.
