Get Involved

How can your business help?

In the school year 2006/7 ABLAZE worked with 54 businesses whose 700 volunteers donated 20,000 hours to improve the future life chances of 4,500 of the young people in Bristol schools. There are 3 ways you can help to increase that impact.

Volunteers

Business volunteers are valued in schools across Bristol from Nursery to Further Education. You can either get involved in one of our established programmes or we can work with you to design something specific aimed at your business sector or area of expertise. Examples of this would be Clerical Medical's Personal Finance Programme or GE Capital Solutions Imagination at Play. Alternatively we can manage a programme which you have designed yourself such as Rolls-Royce Forces in Motion.

Funding

ABLAZE is a registerd charity and we need funding to run our programmes. Bristol Chilren and Young Peoples' Services provide partial funding for our co-ordinators but we need further funding to ensure the charity is properly staffed and able to continue its work.

It is increasingly recognised that business involvement is crucial in improving our schools. Without your support our young people will not have access to resources which are vital to them as they start out in life. By sponsoring ABLAZE you will know that you are making a positive impact on education in the city.

Leadership

The charity is run by a small board of trustees who give their time voluntarily. We are looking to expand that board by introducing further expertise in areas like sales, marketing fund raising and finance.
